Dr. Zoltan Asztalos, Founding Director received his Ph.D. in biology at the Loránd Eötvös Science University, Budapest, Hungary in 1992. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, NY, USA, Mitsubishi-Kagaku Institute of Life Sciences, Tokyo, Japan and at various Departments at the University of Cambridge, UK. He has more than fifteen years experience in fruit fly behaviour genetics. His publications cover studies on classical conditioning (learning and memory), sexual orientation (“homosexuality”) and habituation mutant Drosophila. He is one of the inventors of the Dual Tagging Gene Trap genetic system and inventor of Aktogen's behaviour screening technology.
